Moving forward, through technologies that convert waste into valuable resources, we will continue to contribute to mitigating global warming and realizing a sustainable society.

The Environmental Equipment Development Office is engaged in technologies that transform “unnecessary materials” generated from daily life and economic activities —such as general waste, industrial waste, urban refuse, and food loss— into valuable resources without incineration by utilizing heat and pressure.
We are also developing technologies to convert waste plastics, used tires, and other materials into usable resources through thermal decomposition and gasification, without burning them.
